CASE STUDY: Woods Charter School
As this private school with grades 1-12, located in Chapel Hill, NC grew in popularity and notoriety, it was clear to the staff that to maintain the dedication of providing a high level of academic standards and teaching atmosphere a new facility would need to be constructed. Focusing strongly on the science and biology curriculum the new facility would need to be designed around the need for many exhaust hoods and fresh air intake to maintain the indoor air quality of the facility. Automated Facility Solutions partnered with the mechanical contractor to provide LONworks integration to all main mechanical equipment. This allowed direct control of outdoor air dampers, VFD controlled exhaust fans and energy recovery systems.
As a result, all of the demand side ventilation, make-up requirements and exhaust hoods in the facility met the strict state regulations for certification as a research facility. |
